I am honored to be taking part in the phenomenal “Artists for Emanuel: Straight from the Heart” event on November 4th. This event will include a reception and an auction that will feature works of 90 local artists with ALL proceeds benefiting The Lowcountry Unity Fund of the Coastal Community Foundation. The Lowcountry Unity Fund was formed after the horrible tragedy at Mother Emanuel AME Church and it strives to promote long-term solutions for racism and economic inequality in African-American communities.

On Wednesday November 4th, online bidding will begin at 9:00 am here. Then, on Wednesday November 11th, the reception will take place from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the Cigar Factory on East Bay Street. There is no entrance fee but $10 donations are kindly accepted at the door. At the reception, there will be music from the Charleston Spiritual Ensemble and the Charleston Gospel Choir and food from Charleston’s finest restaurants. Also, the reception will feature a “Quick Sale,” which will include several 8×8 pieces of local artwork for $200 apiece.
