Recently, while working on some large canvases, it occurred to me that the brown paper used to blot the stencil application had taken on a life of its own and was, in fact, just as intriguing, if not more so, than the canvas itself. That gave me a new direction for my next series, which is ongoing.
After noticing the first one, I moved on to nowhere but the trash, and discovered the best was under my nose the whole time. These are just a few of the best pieces I found residing there.

After enjoying these discoveries for a few days, I wondered how far I could take the idea, and came up with the collage as a way to incorporate them into a finished work. Enjoy.
