There’s not many places in the world quite like King Street in historical downtown Charleston. From the amazing food, to the nightlife, and the shopping- I’m always inundated with culture and energy. I love that I am able to feature my art in a gallery on such a buzzing street.
When you’re done perusing my work at Mitchell Hill Gallery, take the brisk walk to Marion Square on Saturdays for the famed Charleston Farmers Market. At the market, stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables for the week, peruse tents of local artisans, and enjoy live entertainment.
After making your way through the Farmers Market, grab a cup of joe or a cold one and watch passersby.
If you happen to find yourself downtown on the second Sunday of the month, you’ve lucked out. Second Sunday is a Charleston tradition in which they shut down a big portion of King Street and open it up to street performers, restaurants, and shops located on King Street. It’s a great place to soak up and enjoy the Charleston art scene while shopping local artisans and boutiques.
What are some of your favorite spots on King Street? Any hidden spots that I need to check out?
